Working primarily in oils, Powell explores themes of beauty, ritual, and place through carefully orchestrated compositions that balance realism with a sense of timelessness. Silver vessels, oysters, pearls, and fine linens often appear alongside her subjects, drawing connections between the natural world and the traditions of hospitality, craftsmanship, and refinement that have shaped the coastal South.

Powell earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education with a concentration in painting from the University of Georgia. Her work is held in private collections throughout the Southeast and is represented by Four Corners Gallery in Bluffton, South Carolina.

She currently lives and works in coastal Georgia, where the changing marsh light continues to inspire her evolving body of work.
